How CryptoLic collects, uses, and protects information about visitors and customers.

Last updated: July 2025

Overview

CryptoLic ("we," "our," or "us") operates cryptolic.us. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to operate the site and fulfill purchases. We do not sell personal information.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Email address — if you subscribe to our newsletter or request updates. Managed through Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), our email platform.
  • Purchase information — when you buy a guide or toolkit, the transaction is processed by Payhip. CryptoLic receives only your email address (for order delivery) and your country (for tax compliance). Your payment card details are handled entirely by Payhip and its payment processors; we never see or store them.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics — We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on page, general location by country/region). This data is aggregated; it is not linked to personally identifiable information.
  • Cookies — Analytics tools set first-party and third-party cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site's educational content is fully accessible without them.
  • Server logs — Our hosting provider (DigitalOcean App Platform) may log standard request metadata (IP address, browser type, referring URL) for security and operational purposes.

Free tools (calculator, card builder, quiz)

The Fee Calculator, Payment Card Builder, and Merchant Readiness Quiz run entirely in your browser. No inputs you enter into these tools are transmitted to us or stored anywhere.

How we use information

  • To deliver purchased products to your email address
  • To send newsletters and product updates you have subscribed to
  • To understand aggregate site usage and improve content
  • To meet legal obligations (e.g., tax records for digital product sales)

Email communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you will receive occasional emails about new guides, free resources, and site updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time at cryptolic.us/unsubscribed/.

We do not send unsolicited commercial email. We do not share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Third-party services

CryptoLic uses the following third-party services that may process visitor data under their own privacy policies:

  • Payhip — digital product checkout and delivery
  • Brevo — email list and newsletter delivery
  • Google Analytics — site usage analytics
  • Microsoft Clarity — session heatmaps and usage analytics
  • DigitalOcean — web hosting and CDN

We review these providers for privacy compliance and choose services that do not resell user data.

Data retention

  • Email subscribers — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Purchase records — retained as required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).
  • Analytics data — retained per the default settings of Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (typically 14 months for GA4 event data).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten)
  • Opt out of analytics tracking (by using browser settings or a privacy extension)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

CryptoLic is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices change or as laws require. Material changes will be noted with a new "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
