About CryptoLic

Better payment decisions, minus the hype.

CryptoLic helps small business owners lower payment costs and decide, with confidence, whether cryptocurrency belongs in their business. Practical, honest, and merchant-first.

Why CryptoLic

An engineer's approach to getting paid.

Most crypto advice is written by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. That's the opposite of what a business owner needs.

CryptoLic takes an engineering-first view: understand how payments actually work, weigh the tradeoffs honestly, and recommend only what holds up in the real world. We treat cryptocurrency as one payment tool among several: useful when it lowers your costs or solves a problem, and not worth the trouble when it doesn't. We'll tell you which.

Evidence over hype

Claims backed by how the technology behaves and what it costs, not price predictions.

Vendor-neutral

We don't sell wallets, processors, or coins, and take no affiliate deals that would bend our advice.

Built for implementation

Guidance you can act on, written for the counter and the back office, not the trading desk.

What we are, and what we're not

We are an educational resource for business owners weighing modern payment options. We start with the fundamentals and grow into hands-on guides for putting them into practice.

We're not a news site, an investment service, or a trading platform. No price predictions, no coin promotion, no hype: just a sound business decision about how you get paid.

How we think

We'll tell you no if that's the right answer

Our only job is helping you reach a confident decision. If cryptocurrency payments don't fit your business, the guide says so directly. Same clarity, regardless of the answer.

No affiliate relationships that change the advice

We don't receive commissions from wallets, processors, or coins. What we recommend is what we'd recommend regardless of who benefits.

Written for the decision, not the technology

The guide covers how the economics work and what the setup involves. Not how the blockchain works. Business owners need a different explanation than developers do.

Specific figures, not general claims

Every cost comparison and tradeoff in the guide uses real, verifiable numbers. Vague advice is easy to produce. Specific, honest advice takes longer.

Who it's for

Retailers, coffee shops, restaurants, contractors, service businesses, consultants, ecommerce sellers, mobile vendors, food trucks, nonprofits, and pop-up merchants: owners who want better payment decisions without becoming crypto experts.

Important

CryptoLic publishes educational content only, not financial, legal, or tax advice. Cryptocurrency rules and tools change and vary by location; confirm specifics with a qualified professional before acting.

Editorial standards

How we research and review

The reason to trust a recommendation is the method behind it. Here is how a CryptoLic page is built, checked, and kept current.

We work from primary sources

Claims about fees, settlement, and how a tool behaves come from the source that actually knows: a provider's own documentation and pricing pages, published network mechanics, and official tax and regulatory guidance. When we cite a figure, it comes from a primary source, not a secondary blog post repeating it.

A clear source hierarchy

When sources disagree, we weight them in order: official documentation and primary specifications first, then a provider's public pricing and terms, then reputable technical references, and only then general reporting. Marketing copy is treated as a claim to verify, not a fact to repeat.

Documentation over recollection

Every substantive claim on a comparison, POS, or payment-solution page is tied to a documented behavior we can point to. Our POS Compatibility and Payment Solutions centers separate what is verified from what is still provisional, and they say which is which on the page rather than blurring the two.

Independent testing, honestly scoped

Where we have hands-on tested a tool, we say so. Where a recommendation rests on documentation rather than a lab test, we say that too, and mark it provisional. We would rather show the boundary of what we have verified than imply a confidence we have not earned.

We state uncertainty plainly

Payment fees, tax treatment, and platform features change and vary by location. Volatile figures are dated and hedged, and where the honest answer is "it depends" or "this is not settled," the page says so instead of manufacturing false precision.

We keep pages current

Pages carry a review date, and the figures most likely to drift, fees, thresholds, and platform capabilities, are re-checked against their primary sources on a regular cadence. When a provider changes something material, the page changes with it.

Why this matters

An engineering-first publisher earns trust the same way good engineering does: by showing its work, marking what is verified, and being honest about the edges. That is the standard every CryptoLic page is held to.
